Domestic Trucking Program Changes:

In an effort to offer continued service enhancements to our partners, we have established new systems to improve visibility and consistency with our national trucking partners. A change in procedure for coast-to-coast trucking related to POs, transfer orders, and VRAs is outlined below.

With these procedures in place, we endeavor to provide you with a consistent pickup schedule and daily access to trucking order statuses and ETAs via Globe.

These policies will go into effect March 1, 2018.

NJ to CA

  • Orders must be submitted by 3 pm EST on Wednesdays to be included on a Tuesday departure the following week.
  • Total transit time from departure to arrival at Sidekick or Vin Lux will be ~10 days.
  • Cost will be $6.00/cs with a 56 cs minimum ($336.00) billed with Net 30 terms from order submission

CA to NJ

  • Orders must be submitted by 4 pm EST on Thursday/Monday to be included on Wednesday/Friday departures, respectively.
  • Total transit time from departure to arrival at Fond du Lac will be ~8-9 days.
  • Cost will be $7.00/cs from any pickup point statewide with a 56 cs minimum ($392.00) billed with Net 30 terms from order submission.

OR/WA to NJ

  • Orders will be collected in the Northwest every Thursday to be consolidated in CA to follow the same shipping schedule as CA-NJ.
  • Orders must be in the Benicia warehouse 24 hours prior to departure to be guaranteed space on the next truck
  • Total transit time from departure to arrival at Fond Du Lac will be ~8-9 days
  • Cost will be $8.00/cs with a 56 cs minimum ($448.00) from Oregon and $9.00/cs with a 56 cs minimum ($504.00) from Washington, billed with Net 30 terms from order submission

Customer Service Reminder:

At the beginning of February, we kicked off a big change to our Customer Service Team. As a reminder, please do not email our team members at their personal emails. Each member of our team is focused on their respective duties that are tied to orders@teimports.com / vendors@teimports.com and customerservice@teimports.com. If you reach out to someone personally, there is a possibility that the message will not be read in a timely manner resulting in a delay and/or compounding your issue.

If you have any questions or are unsure where to go, orders@teimports.com is the best place to start. If something requires escalation, please also copy Brant Krihak (bkrihak@teimports.com).

Process of Sending Samples:

It has come to our attention that the process of sending samples is burdensome for both our partners and their suppliers. TEI is happy to assist in streamlining this process by handling all the paperwork and logistics details, including, but not limited to:

  • Filing COLA’s/COLA waivers ($15)
  • Communicating with carriers (DHL/Fedex etc.)
  • Answering questions regarding custom clearance
  • Filing for prior notice ($25)

French Bank Holidays in May:

The French Bank Holidays will impact shipping schedules especially for the second week in May. Please plan ahead. Between May 8th and May 10h, there will be no trucks on the roads, creating delays in pick-ups and deliveries to consolidation warehouses. Please reach out to your producers so that they may confirm readiness ahead of time to have all orders picked up prior to the holidays to avoid any delay.

Below are the Bank Holidays planned for the month of May 2018:

  • Monday April 2nd
  • Tuesday May 1st
  • Tuesday May 8th
  • Thursday May 10th
  • Monday May 21st
